Lions Take Royse City

The Greenville Lions varsity football team took the Royse City Bulldogs in district play, October 9.

The Lions had a rushing attack that put the Lions past the Bulldogs.  Greenville total rushing attack was for 427 yards with Alton Dennis taking the lead.

Dennis also passed for 83 yards and 2 touchdowns, connecting once with the 3 starting receivers.

The Lions defense also had a great game by forcing two turnovers that led to points.  The special teams also played an important role in the game, with Ryan Wilhelm's 28 yard field goal before half time and Cobbie Johnson's 46 yard punt return in the 4th quarter.  In the end the Lions beat Royse City 45-28.

The Lions are now (1-2) in district play and (4-2) on the season.
