Creating care packages for distribution by the Meals on Wheels organization is the current service project for the GHS Key Club.

As an incentive for the student body to contribute items, the club is taking a count by classification.  The overall group with the most products will be given a free jean day on December 18th.

For the project the club is asking for new toothbrushes, toothpaste, lotion, hand sanitizer, hairbrushes, travel size tissues and other personal grooming items.

Stop by Room 2013 before or after school to drop off your items.

Classroom curriculums often create clubs and activities for students.  An exception to this is the mentor-based Key Club.  The student-led program teaches leadership skills through serving others.  It is a part of the Kiwanis International group and it is sponsored by a local Kiwanis Club.  Members of the local Kiwanis club work with GHS students to develop a sense of community volunteerism.

Kayla Mayes, president of the Key Club at Greenville High School, says, "In Key Club, we try to get students involved in our school and community.  A lot of the students who join want to volunteer and make a difference."  Key Club does volunteer projects for the community throughout the year.
