The Greenville FFA attended the Texas FFA Convention in Dallas, Texas during the week of July 6-10 held at the Dallas Convention Center.  There were 11,700 FFA members and guests in attendance, a new record high attendance for a Texas FFA convention.

The Greenville FFA Chapter received a Top Ten in Texas Chapter Award in the National Chapter Award competition.  There are 750 high school FFA chapters in Texas.  This ranking is selected based upon the entire year's activities in all areas of Student Development, Leadership Development and Community Involvement.  Two years ago the Greenville FFA was named a "National Top Ten Chapter" out of almost 8,000 high school FFA chapters nationwide.

The local chapter will now advance to the National Chapter Award competition.  Award winning chapters will be named and recognized in Indianapolis, Indiana at the National FFA Convention in late October.  Over 50,000 FFA members and guests attend annually.

Also during the state convention our chapter was awarded a Golden Horizon Award for the entire year's leadership summary of involvement in all areas of FFA based upon a point system in categories of single and multiple teacher departments.
